Empire Review A decent view from Paramount! - 3.25 out of 5  (11/1/2000) The late Alan J. Pakula was a director best known for his thrillers and THE PARALLAX VIEW is (in my opinion) his masterwork. Influential on everything from Oliver Stone's multi-layered political thrillers (JFK and NIXON) to David Fincher's THE GAME with Michael Douglas, this classic is a standard by which all real filmmakers and critics judge the rest and has rarely been equaled.
