The Parallax View, a superb drama about one man's paranoia that turns out to be total, incredible fact, ranks among the best political thrillers. Warren Beatty is a news reporter who, along with seven others, witnesses the assassination of political candidate. When the other seven die in "accidents," the newsman begins to doubt the official position: that a lone madman was responsible for the crime. He imagines a sophisticated network of highly trained murderers. But his nightmares pale against the bizarre truth he uncovers.

A decent view from Paramount! - 3.25 out of 5 (11/1/2000)
The late Alan J. Pakula was a director best known for his thrillers and THE
PARALLAX VIEW is (in my opinion) his masterwork. Influential on everything
from Oliver Stone's multi-layered political thrillers (JFK and NIXON) to
David Fincher's THE GAME with Michael Douglas, this classic is a standard by
which all real filmmakers and critics judge the rest and has rarely been
equaled. Here's how I see it.
Warren Beatty starts as an over-aggressive reporter who is not always a
welcome
