Customer Review What was wrong with Gena Rowlands? - 2.75 out of 5  (8/25/2002) I'm not sure why this film was made. Gena Rowlands owned this role and gave a far better performance. The original 1980 version was grity, realistic, and absolutely absorbing. How sad so many people overlooked it. Sharon takes care of the kid and protects him and herself.This movie is all about this... Sharon Stone is tough characters in here but she shouldnt have made this movie.... Dont get me wrong she is good in the movie but the character she portrays does not fit her standards..
