When There's No More Room In Hell, The Dead Will Walk The Earth.
In 1968, director George A. Romero brought us Night of the Living Dead. It became the definitive horror film of its time. Eleven years later, he would unleash the most shocking motion picture experience for all times. As modern society is consumed by zombie carnage, four desperate survivors barricade themselves inside a shopping mall to battle the flesh-eating hordes of the undead. This is the ferocious horror classic, featuring landmark gore effects by Tom Savini, that remains one of the most important - and most controversial - horror films in history. When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth: The original Dawn of the Dead is back!

Great Horror Film or Politically Conscious allegory?
You be the judge, although I suspect if you were to ask George Romero himself what he was trying to do with DAWN OF THE DEAD, he would admit that he was just trying to scare the pants off you.
Which the film does very well. In fact 25 years later, it still holds up as one of the best horror films of all time. It even ranks higher on my list than the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. 2003 marked the 25th anniversary of the film and Anc

1 of the 3 greatest zombie genre films of all time - 4 out of 5 (3/22/2004)
With "Day of the Dead" being Romero's best film to date, both "Night" and "Dawn" rank high above the copy-cat films that have spawned since the original "Night of the Living Dead" release. With the remake due out in a few days, I can only hope at this point that the remake lives up to the standard that Romero has set, I know for a fact the FX will be outstanding due to the fact that Tom Savini is back on board. The original "Dawn of the Dead" is a classic must have in your horror collection.
