Very nice presentation of a classic - 3.75 out of 5 (3/10/2001)
Both the matted widescreen and full-screen versions look fantastic considering the film's age. I watched one on regular viewing and the other with the commentary track.
I've given audio below-average rating not because it's mono, but because it's recorded so low. The commentary version is at a normal level, but the film soundtrack audio track is the lowest level I've heard out of 130+ discs.
It would have been nice to see the trailer, and apparently one was included on a laserdisc version

A BUMPY NIGHT WITH GEORGE AND MARTHA! - 4 out of 5 (12/24/1998)
NOTHING ON THIS WORLD COULD PREPARE YOU FOR AN EVENING WITH MARTHA AND GEORGE, EDWARD ALBEE'S SERPENTINE, COMBATITIVE COUPLE, FROM HIS AWARD WINNING PLAY. THIS FILM ADAPTATION IS A POWERHOUSE, REPLETED WITH MOMENTS OF TRUTH AND REVELATION. RICHARD BURTON AND ELIZABETH TAYLOR ARE SUPERB AS THE MERCURIAL GEORGE AND MARTHA, WITH GEORGE SEGAL AND SANDY DENNIS GIVEN GREAT SUPPORT AS THE COUPLE CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING. INCISIVE AND UNFORGETTABLE; YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANYTHING REMOTELY LIKE THIS
