Remake of teh 1975 cop show starts slow but delivers - 4.5 out of 5 (1/6/2004)
One of the fastest growing trends in the film industry is to take a popular television show from a few decades ago and turn it into a movie. With the success of "Charlie's Angels" this movement is bound to continue. S.W.A.T., which stands for 'special weapons and tactics' was an above average television that began in 1975. By The Book, but the book is good! - 4.5 out of 5 (1/6/2004)
SWAT is yet another by the book action film that does the trick. It takes a page from the book that says bigger is better, and it doesn't let any little detail like plausibility stand in the way.
For instance, fans of the television show might wonder how the characters which are named after the original characters on the TV show can refer back to that television show (and it's famous theme) in a key segment. Other purists might wonder how it is they manage to land a private jet on a bridge
