A group of people with special abilities fight to save the world - 4 out of 5 (12/31/2003)
There used to be a trend with comics to take a whole bunch of superheroes and gather them together. In the DC universe there was the Justice League of America containing such notables as Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and The Flash. MIndless fun fer sure - 3.75 out of 5 (12/22/2003)
Critics and audiences were harsh on LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN. They trashed the picture as "mindless" and "excessively violent" but nobody ever really took the time to stop and reflect on the fact that there are few action movies today that can't be accused of the same thing.

SUPERB ACTION FLICK - 5 out of 5 (5/24/2004)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is one of the smartest ideas for an action flick I've ever seen. By combining 8 of the world's most known heros, and heroines, of the literature world, this movie is truly original. Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, The Invisible Man, Mina Harker, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Dorian Grey are the characters wonderfully represented in this excellent film.

Lots of unrealized potential - 2.75 out of 5 (1/6/2004)
What killed this film was very poor plotting. The script suffered from many problems. The cast and visuals were excellent. Too bad they didn't have a substantial work of writing to perform.
