Customer Review Deserves Far Better Treatment - 3.25 out of 5  (10/8/2003) I went to see The Whole Wide World three times when it was initially released in theaters back in 1996 - which is saying something, as it was sort of dumped into the market by its studio. Not many people saw this film, which is a damn crime. Simply put, it's one of the most unconventional, heartbreakingly tragic love stories I've ever come across.
