Epic story of three families involved with aliens - 4.25 out of 5 (10/23/2003)
One of my personal favorite types of novels are those that are thick, rich in detail and cover many generations, like the works of Michener with books like Hawaii. Typical Spielberg treatment - 3 out of 5 (2/3/2004)

Great Miniseries Gets Mediocre Treatment on DVD - 3.75 out of 5 (10/23/2003)
I rated the film, audio, and video as above average to best. I think this is a great miniseries with production value equal to that of Band of Brothers, which I think is one of the best miniseries of all time. The story line is interesting and keeps your interest throughout the film. The audio and video on this DVD are also very clear with good use of surround speakers. The packaging is similar to that of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is acceptable, although I would really like to have had a
