Jer's Badlands DVD quality review, and that's it... - 3.25 out of 5 (8/29/1999)
For a movie this old and especially from this period, the film transfer on this DVD looks great. There is very little grain and colors and contrast are very good. Warner Bros. has been doing some great DVDs from the 1970s that have great picture and remastered 5.1 audio. Unlike previous Warner efforts, the 5.1 sound on Badlands isn't quite up to snuff. A great movie that got a fair treatment - 3.5 out of 5 (6/29/1999)
This is a very artistic film from director Terence Malick. The story is a grim one but everything is in the art of telling it. The images are all finely crafted. It is another example of the elliptic story telling cinema of Malick (Days of Heaven & The Thin Red Line). The transfer is very good, the colors are spectacular and the audio is fine. KIT AND HOLLY GO KILLING : A MORAL TALE - 3.5 out of 5 (6/10/1999)
The world of BADLANDS, Terrence Malick's first movie, is a world without God. Holly's father, Warren Oates, a painter, an artist, a creator has been shot to death by Kit. He has left a world unfinished, imperfect ; he didn't have the time to give feelings to men.
