Empire Review set sail with da man! - 3.75 out of 5  (5/21/2003) If I had to come up with a one-sentence description of CAPTAIN RON, it would be this: The movie is DOWN AND OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS WITHOUT Nick Nolte or Paul Mazursky and its made for a more family friendly audience. Of course, I don't get paid for one sentence reviews (don't you wish I did? Come on don't be afraid to say it!) But unfortunately I have to put a little more substance into them. Which is ironic when I am reviewing a film that purposely had it removed. This movie isnt talked about much, but when it finally surfaced, you wouldnt believe the amount of people buying this movie. I can only say that this movie cracks me up, its plain great comedy. Kurt Russell is just the man taking on the role of this Captain Ron, he will make you shake your head with the amount of silly stuff this guy does. Get the movie, its only 7 bucks.
