Empire Review Redundant and repetitive and I liked it! - 3.75 out of 5  (7/4/2002) I'm not sure I did a single thing right when I watched MEAN MACHINE. First, I completely missed the point that it was a British remake of THE LONGEST YARD with Soccer the sport of choice instead of football (or perhaps football instead of football if you are British and you really want to split hairs.) Next I missed the fact that both the U.K. Version and the domestic theatrical version were on the same disc. Now normally, this is an option I would have taken full advantage of the first time   more >> Customer Review Good remake - 3.25 out of 5  (5/18/2004) good remake of the longest yard . the original is a classic . but this is a nice twist. it`s soccer and thier Brits .
