Customer Review Disappointing treatment of a great noir classic - 3 out of 5  (3/7/2000) Billy Wilder's masterpiece from that vintage film-noir year 1944, stands proud as one of the finest and most influential films ever made. Needless to say, such a film is a "must have" in any decent home-cinema library. It is only a pity that Universal/image turned in such a half-baked effort for this DVD release.
