Empire Review A good family film - 4 out of 5  (8/5/2003) BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE was one of the surprise hits of the spring in 2003. The odd part though is that I have yet to speak to one person who really recommends the movie as a must see. Surely though, some of those people shrugging their shoulders at me must have accounted for some of the 130 million at the box office? And my opinion? Well... can one shrug his shoulders in prose?
