Customer Review A new twist in pan&scan: reformatted for 1.78 screens, but why? - 3 out of 5  (10/29/2004) Beware of this DVD, it is reformatted from 2.35:1 to 1.78:1 aspect ratio. According to the IMDb, it was shot in Panavision (not Super 35) 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The DVD (which is 16x9 enhanced) starts out at the correct 2.35:1 ratio, but after the opening credits, zooms to 1.78:1. There are two definite instances of where you can see the 1.78 frame "pan" across the 2.35 original ratio.
