Another gritty police drama - 4 out of 5 (6/23/2003)
Dark Blue was written by David Ayer, The same man who gave us TRAINING DAY
and the two movies put back to back make me think he has something against
cops.
Of course, it also might be that he just has something for hard-hitting
dialogue and career changing roles. Denzel Washington got great acclaim for
going so much against type in TRAINING DAY and now Kurt Russell plays a
different kind of role as the cop you will love to hate.
The film takes place on the mean streets of Los Angele

A under rated movie. - 3.25 out of 5 (7/7/2003)
A under rated movie. What more can I say. Kurt plays one of his best roles in years ( perhaps since Stargate). Initially I thought it was going to be more about the King beating in LA in 1991 by the way the movie started with 'footage' from then, thankfully that was just 'mood setting' as opposed to plot line.
Sound was badly mixed in some places, the music was very over powering in places while the talking scenes were, by comparsion, low.
Still, would recommend this movie for action and p
