Musicals return in top form! - 4.75 out of 5 (8/19/2003)
When you look at decades where there are plenty of economic and political disruption Hollywood seems to forefront with the introduction of musicals. In the 30s, 40s and 60s the musical helped regular people go to the movies and forget the problems of the world for a couple of hours and lose themselves in a magical world where people broke into song to express themselves. Excellent Movie... Horrific DVD!!! - 3.5 out of 5 (9/8/2003)
The best picture of the year deserves the best dvd of the year. Disney struck out with the DVD release of Chicago! One commentary!?! One deleted scene!?! One documentary!?! COME ON!!! Rob Marshall should have been consulted for the dvd release of his masterpiece. Disney- step up to the plate!! Quit releasing crappy dvds.

Deserving winner of 6 Academy Awards. I watched this movie in the theatre and I actually enjoyed it more the second time around on DVD. The acting, singing, dancing, editing, lighting, costume etc. are incredible! The transfer onto DVD is exceptional, colors are crisp and vibrant and the sound, boy , your sound system will get a workout! Great seperartion throughout the film with all speakers. The sound envelopes you and drags the viewer into the scenes.
Highly recommended. Go straight
