Try as I might, I cannot think of any project as ambitious as THE
ANIMATRIX.
Certainly we have seen three films filmed together and released as a
scheduled program such as in the case of BACK TO THE FUTURE and THE LORD OF
THE RINGS, but never have we seen a project commissioned especially to tie
them all together.
Producers Larry and Andy Wachowski have always been fans of anime and they
composed and arranged this project as sort of a love letter to those of us
who are similar fans

this was a great idea and I hope it sparks others (I'd love to see an animated cadavre equis of tarantino films - wouldn't it be cool to see what happens to jules as he 'just walks the earth'? or see what really happens to mr.pink or how the boys got marselles wallace's briefcase in the first place) the animation styles are very eclectic, beautiful and intense and but I wouldn't recommend this for younger viewers. If you loved the matrix films, you're definitely going to enjoy this dvd. Just about every single frame of the 9 short films are flawless, even if you're not into anime you should still give this dvd a try. The flawless CG from the first short film titled "Osiris" should be reason enough to buy this dvd.

Simply put if you are a fan of the Matrix or Animation in general buy this dvd. The Wachowski brothers, not only deepen the Matrix universe but allow western audiences some spectacular animation by some very talented artists.
