A seasoned spy must help his apprentice escape from China - 4.25 out of 5 (4/28/2002)
The Spy Thriller genre is a long time moneymaker for Hollywood. In recent years the genre has split into two basic sub-genres, the slick gadget film like the recent Bond films and the more dialogue heavy film like 'Three Days of the Condor'. Spy Game is the latest entry to the later category. This film looks at the history between a highly placed CIA, Nathan Muir (Robert Redford) agent and the younger man he recruited, Tom Bishop (Brad Pitt). The story is presented in a very interesting manner.

Five stars for Spy Game - 5 out of 5 (2/19/2002)
SPY GAME is one of a group of movies that seems to be filmed with Ultra-Realism. The action moves so fast that you barely have time to register that it is mostly confined to one room.
But that's how it seems to be in most modern films, and in truth, that's also how we suspect it to be in real life where the spies don't mingle with the commoners, but rather live behind their computer identities. These new princes of deceit also manage to mix the dirty business of doling out duties to the unde

'Spy Game' is a pure quality, thinking-man's thriller... - 4.75 out of 5 (4/24/2002)
Spy Game is one of those rare occasions where everything behind the movie seemed right from the start. For one thing, the two leading stars, Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, are a dynamite pair of actors that would fit together in any movie. The reason for this is indefinitely clear; Pitt is very much the Robert Redford of his generation, right down to specific mannerisms. When Redford had become a superstar in the mid 70s, he was cited for both having looks and acting talent, and Pitt has long bee

Only one problem - 4 out of 5 (4/21/2002)
On certain players subtitles can not be switched off - that start midway thru chapter 2 . Otherwise a great movie - can't wait until they fix the subtitle issue.

ANOTHER PLEASER FROM TONY SCOTT!!!!! - 4.25 out of 5 (4/17/2002)
Okay, I was surprised a little when I saw this film because of all the flashbacks and the time between the action sequences.
After the opening action scene, the film slows down for a long period of time before picking up again. What makes the movie work is the
two leads, Redford and Pitt. They are as good as always in SPY GAME, and that is the main reason I enjoyed the movie. You believe their motives and the cause for their actions.
Their IS action, though, and its good stuff as well. The d
