Throughout my entire life as well as everyone alive on earth, Marijuana has been illegal in the United States. There are 300,000 people a year arrested for simple possession. These people now have a criminal record, for life. But if I think hard, I can probably name 5 or 10 people of the hundreds I've met who don't smoke pot, at least occasionally. If the government arrested everyone who had pot at once, the prison system would be so flooded it would collapse.
