Empire Review By the numbers - 3.5 out of 5  (5/22/2003) Critics praised MAID IN MANHATTAN as a wonderfully romantic comedy, but the truth is it's just another by the numbers movie. It's a combination of an attractive lead actress, an attractive lead actor and a storyline that has been around since the Brother's Grimm did script revisions.
