Empire Review Much better than Slackers - 4 out of 5  (5/22/2003) Last year, we saw a film called SLACKERS come out and it was about the grand tradition of cheating your way through high school and beyond. SLACKERS didn't do very well in the box office and it was a very, very creepy film with some elements that stay with me to this day. All of this brings me to my real question which is why that movie got theatrical play while CHEATS which is a far better movie went directly to video?
