Empire Review So bad, it's good again - 3.75 out of 5  (5/21/2003) The odd thing about cult movies is that it's hard to tell at times if they were meant to be that way. Take for example the original SWAMP THING. The film was directed by Wes Craven because he had a genuine love for the character but the film did less than tolerable box office before becoming a huge cult success on video and DVD (It's presently out of print because of a questionable scene in which a certain actress didn't approve of her nude scenes.
