A Black Comedy About White Trash
Get ready for laughs the size of Texas when Olivia Newton-John, Beau Bridges, Bonnie Bedelia and Delta Burke lead an all-star cast in this twisted, white-trash tale "that pushes the 'fun' in dysfunctional" (Jam! Movies).
The hilariously sordid details about a southern family surface with a vengeance when relatives converge for the funeral of "Grandma Peggy", who dies after tripping over her lover's wooden legs! Toss in a couple of feuding big-haired daughters, a jumpy aunt who just quit smoking (Beth Grant), the scorned neighbor from hell, and crazy, cross-dressing "Brother Boy" (Leslie Jordan)-and you've got an outrageous "train wreck you can't help but watch!" (Chicago Tribune)

A hilarious romp through the dark side of Texan life. - 4.75 out of 5 (3/26/2003)
When you mix together the musical styling of Olivia Newton-John, white trash chic, a random death, cross dressing, and homosexuality in the big mixing bowl of a town in Texas you end up with one of the most disturbingly hilarious black comedies to be put on DVD in ages. Sordid Lives had its origins on stage and with a little finagling and with the help of a few of the stage stars, it was brought to the big screen with much critical success.
