"Two Thumbs Up!" -Ebert andiRoper
FBI profiler Terry McCaleb almost always gets to the heart of a case. This time, that heart beats inside him. He's a cardiac patient who received a murder victim's heart. And the donor's sister asks him to make good on his second chance by finding the killer. That's just the first of many twists in a smart, gritty suspense thriller that's "vintage Eastwood: swift, surprising and very, very exciting" (Jim Svedja, KNX/CBS Radio).
Clint Eastwood produces, directs and stars in this edgy acclaimed mystery based on Michael Connelly's novel and scripted by Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential). With a superb cast brought to a hard boil playing characters to quicken your pulse and hold you spellbound, Blood Work works exceptionally well.

Classic Clint - 3.75 out of 5 (12/12/2002)
Clint Eastwood is living proof of the old saying "Not older, just better."
BLOOD WORK is his latest movie and although it didn't burn up any box
office records with it's 26 Million dollar take, it still managed to recoup
its budget almost four times over. In addition, it gave Clint some of the
best critical reviews of his long career.
And when you are talking about a guy like Clint Eastwood, that's quite a
feat.

Excellent! Vintage Eastwood. - 4.5 out of 5 (1/1/2003)
How do you make a raspy-voiced old man seem vital? Give him a heart-transplant for cover; and then offer him a murder to solve and a beautiful woman to fall in love with him, that's how!
Clint Eastwood (Terry McCaleb) returns to rare form in Blood Work. The story is well paced; a variety of LAPD and LA County Sheriff characters balance out Eastwood's Anglo-Saxon demeanor; and there's just enough tug-at-the-heart-strings-sentimentality to make the story compelling.
