Empire Review Better but still needs work - 3.5 out of 5  (3/8/2002) CRIMES OF PASSION is a film that confuses many people. It either is known as a film of powerful genius, or it's known as a horrible piece of crap with some of the worst acting ever seen. But a lot of that confusion came out of the story behind the film. Director Ken Russell set out originally to make a film that showed sex as power. The ironic twist to that statement is that he never was allowed enough power to show the film he wanted. The film is a wild wonderful & unique journey on the dangerous side. It tackles in a sometimes campy,sometimes serious way issues about love,sex,feelings & connection.
