Herbert West hasia very good head onihis shoulders… andianother one inia dish onihis desk.
This is Re-Animator as we have been waiting to see it. The technical quality of the picture and sound has never been better, making this the definitive state of the art version of this blood drenched horror classic. We have kept the original commentary tracks, but added gobs of other material, including on-camera interviews with the writer, director, producer, composer, Jack F. Murphy, for investing so much time and money, and for taking such care with all the little details that go into creating a first rate product.
Re-Animator is a very special movie to me and many others involved in its production, and it is gratifying to have it presented in such an excellent way. For horror fans this edition preserves what we love about Re-Animator in all its sturm and drang and gory glory, and for cinema buffs it is just a great genre movie in a great DVD package. If it has been a while since you have seen Re-Animator, this is a good time to re-view it, and if you have never seen it before, this is your opportunity to see what the excitement is all about. So, take this one home and enjoy! -Brian Yuzna

A fitting update - 5 out of 5 (5/6/2002)
Ain't that just dandy?
Every time I get into the middle of a good rant about how they need to go and release some of the films left on DVD, instead of taking the time to continually redo the same ones over and over, they go and release something like RE-ANIMATOR.
And then I end up opening my wallet while shutting my mouth at the same time.
I mean if there was one disc in my collection I was really proud of, It was the Elite version of RE-ANIMATOR, which I found in, of all places; A W

Best 2-disc set of Gory Fun! - 5 out of 5 (3/12/2003)
This is one of the best horror films, stuffed with loads and loads of DVD Features, able to keep you satisfied, including a deleted scene, extended scenes, a theatrical trailer, commentaries, and much much more! This gory horror film has very good acting by Jeffrey Combs, who stars as the strange Herbert West, and the perfect gore scenes like the head decapitation, Dean Halsey squishing the decapitated head and throwing it out of the morgue, and more sick scenes that are going to turn your stoma
