Take a joy ride - 4.25 out of 5 (3/1/2002)
JOY RIDE came out of nowhere last summer to become a decent sized runaway
hit. It features three strong young leads in Paul Walker, LeeLee Sobieski
and Steve Zahn and it had a plot that had worked at least three times
before, most notably at the hands of Steven Spielberg.
And the movie does deliver the chills. My wife and I both enjoyed it but we
did find ourselves asking "well, how did he do that?" a little too often.
That being said, the movie does have its share of original and thrill

When I watched the trailer on TV I thaught that Joy Ride might be a good movie, but when I watched this DVD I loved it! A must buy DVD!!!

Word of mouth can be a powerfull thing. I bought this DVD based on reviews and customer comments without seeing the movie.
I cannot recommend this title highly enough - the interplay between the brothers is very realistic and at times very funny. Add these well rounded characters to a genuinely frightening situation and excellent direction and use of sounds rather than vision - then you've got a good old fashioned suspense horror movie.
