This movie is good. Being a Beethoven fan I enjoyed this very much. The music is wonderful. The scene when the 8th symphony is performed for the first time is my favorite scene from a movie. If your not a Beethoven fan I don't know whether or not you'll like it. Its worth renting though.

I've loved this film for years. Gary Oldman is awesome as Beethoven. The scenery is rich and colorful. The scene where Napoleon is bombing the home of Ludwig's countess friend, and he's hiding under a table to keep from getting killed and is wildly composing all the while (his 5th Symphony, apparently--the one where death is knocking at his door) is amazing in its intensity. Women (like myself!) love this flick because it's passionate, sad, thrilling, and beautifully done. The Ninth Symphony seq
