A deadly virus… Only one wayito stop it.
A train rockets across Eastern Europe. On board are agent Kristoff (International action superstar Jean-Claude Van Damme) and Galina (Laura Elena Harring, John Q.), a beautiful high tech thief. Holding the passengers hostage are a band of terrorists who have come to steal the bioweapon hidden on board. With the train out of control and on a collision course for danger, Kristoff becomes a one-man army taking on the terrorists and trying to save the lives of everyone on board.

Van Damme! this movie is ordinary! - 3 out of 5 (11/6/2002)
Welcome to tonight's episode of really bad action Movie Theater.
Our movie for the evening is DERAILED, the movie that puts forth the point
that if one exploding vehicle is good, then four must be better. By the same
token, if one death threat is good, then three of them must be better and
finally, if one martial arts action star isn't good enough, then you might
as well try to introduce a second star.
Just in case the first doesn't come back for the sequel.

Derailed has some okay action here and there. The problem is that the fight scenes are too fastly edited and you can't really tell what's going on. Another fault is the budget and the film do not connect well here. The film wants to do too many flashy and expensive things; one that the budget did not allow it to, so they turned to miniatures to solve the budget problems. What this does to the film is it makes it look really cheesy or fakish in parts. Imagine the effects of a 80s production movie
