It'sia brand new game with brand new rules!
Get set for more hard-charging action and laughs than you can shake a stick at - in the uproarious, star-powered sequel to Slap Shot, the original classic hailed as "one of the top ten sports movies ever!" (Sports Illustrated, ESPN.com, The Sporting News)
Sean Linden (Stephen Baldwin) is the long-suffering captain and coach of the Charlestown Chiefs. With a roster of one-time stars, would-be hot shots and the comically uncontrollable Hanson Brothers, the Chiefs are a team whose glory days are a distant memory. But the team's new millionaire owner (Academy Award®-nominee Gary Busey) has a new game plan: to turn the Chiefs into the bumbling, underdog losers in a bogus made-for-TV hockey league! And to add insult to injury, their new coach... is a woman! Now, it's going to take a stone-cold miracle - and some high-sticking action from Sean and the Hanson Brothers - to show the world they've got what it takes to win back their passion for the game!

What the puck? - 3.5 out of 5 (3/4/2002)
It was with some hesitance that I put SLAP SHOT 2: BREAKING THE ICE into my
player. My thinking behind this was that some movies are just not made to
have sequels.
I have always considered SLAP SHOT one of these movies. It was the perfect
combination of Director George Roy Hill and actor Paul Newman that made the
original film work. It was a comedy but it also had a point to it, and that
point was that some sports are just better left alone and in the town where
they belong. It just se

So-So - 3 out of 5 (8/31/2004)
Of course you have to love it, it is a hockey movie with the Hansen brothers in it. However it does drag in parts, and doesn't have the colorful characters that the original has. If your looking for one classic hockey movie, get the original, and leave the sequel alone!

Not a classic but way better than I expected! - 4 out of 5 (5/8/2002)
I've seen some negative reviews of this movie and I seriously don't know what people expected. Slap Shot is one of those movies that captured something special for hockey fans and I can't think of another hockey movie I would prefer, although I could do without a little bit of the language in both of the Slap Shot movies.
Slap Shot 2 actually has a decent story in my opinion and Baldwin does a much better job than I imagined he would at playing the leader of the Chiefs. The movie manages to
