Based on the bestseller by Stephen E. Ambrose, Band Of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, Band Of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elite rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and capturing Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. They were also a unit that suffered 150 percent causalities, and whose lives became legend.

Fantastic ten hour series documents Easy Company through the War in Europe. - 5 out of 5 (11/19/2002)
There have been a lot of movies based on historical events lately. From Pearl Harbor to the sinking of the Titanic, Hollywood has covered many of the biggest events of this past century. So when I happened to catch an episode from the Band of Brothers on HBO a while back, being a history buff... I was intrigued.
Hollywood has the incredible knack for putting a face on history like no other medium, I know. All the major battles and invasions that we learned in high school of World War II,

Must buy - 4.75 out of 5 (6/7/2004)
I'm not much of a reviewer, but I do love a good war movie & must say Band Of Brothers has got to be the best I have seen yet. I have put off buying this set for the last year because of the cost & having never seen any of it before, now I wish I would bought it long ago. From playing part 1 Currahee to going through all the bonus features I couldent stop watching them. Even parts of the series that were slower still had my interest completely drawn. This is one very good series & a must own for

Best WWII movie / documentary ever!! - 5 out of 5 (4/30/2004)
WWII is my favorite timeframe in history and Band of Brothers is just outstanding. I think that it is brilliantly acted and directed. We get to follow Easy company from basic to the end of the war and see what those men went through to ensure worldwide freedom. I think that Band of Brothers is closer to a documentary than a movie.

One of the most authentic war films to date! - 4.75 out of 5 (11/24/2003)
Excellent casting! I was able to recognize each individual character. The portrayal was so authentic, it made me feel like I was really there. Awesome film! I loved the interviews with the soldiers who fought the actual battles and lived to tell of the atrocities. 5 stars!
