Empire Review A SPLASH OF A FLICK - 3.75 out of 5  (6/18/2001) This flick made a huge SPLASH in 1984 in a clever fairy-"tail" about a man and mermaid falling in love, a similar fascination to Hans Christian Anderson's with "The Little Mermaid." Madison, a mermaid, goes to Manhattan, New York and hunts down Allen Bauer; a man she saved from drowning on two different occasions. When they meet, there is a deep sinking familiar feeling. A romantic comedy develops between the two until government agents who want to study her know her secret. As an eight-   more >> Customer Review A Great classic makes up for the bad transfer - 2.5 out of 5  (3/18/1999) I remember watching this movie in grade school and would highly recommend this classic. The audio and video are a bit dissapointing. You would figure Disney of all people would at least try to clean up this classic. And let's be honest, dolby prologic doesn't stack up to dolby digital.   more >>
