Empire Review The film is good, but the soundtrack bites - 3.25 out of 5  (1/24/2002) VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN is one of those films that will never be allowed to live up to it's hype because too much was expected of it. The film was supposed to be a breath of new life into the aging career of Eddie Murphy, as well as a boost for the flailing career of Wes Craven. The studios needn't have panicked however as both were still just in a small rut with THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and SCREAM just around the corner for each of them.
