Empire Review It's the state - 4.25 out of 5  (1/14/2002) Why did Entertainment Weekly pick WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER as one of the top ten films of the year? Well, I watched it and it took me about ten minutes to figure out why they did. The movie is weird, it's funny, it's got a lot of dry humor and it would be a parody of every summer camp movie we ever saw, had it not been delivered with such a straight face. Of course, as always, there is a story behind the film, and as always, I'm going to tell it to you.
