The most devastating detective story of theicentury!
In the Watergate Building, lights go on and four burglars are caught in the act. That night triggered revelations that drove a US President from office. Washington reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein (Redford, Hoffman) grabbed the story and stayed with it through doubts, denials, discouragement.
Directed by Alan J. Pakula and based on the Woodward/Bernstein book, the film won four 1976 Academy Awards® (Best Supporting Actor / Jason Robards, Adaptation Screenplay / William Goldman, Art Direction and Sound). It also explores a working newspaper, where the mission is to get the story - and get it right.

A powerful, taunt and eerie film. - 4 out of 5 (1/17/1999)
All the President's Men is a great film. It's engrossing from the very beginning, and it's amazing how enjoyable it remains viewing after viewing. Reford and Hoffman deliver fine performances, and the ensemble asting is equally superb. As the story progresses, you are drawn more and more into the mounting tension and paranoia. The DVD is pretty good actually, even though it was one of the first releases. The picture is strong, thought some darker scenes are a bit grainy. Audio is clear, though I

When Hollywood was making real movies - 4 out of 5 (1/6/1999)
I just saw this fantastic film a week ago and it made me feel strange. Would Hollywood have the guts to produce such a film today. NO WAY!!! Impossible. Imagine : an intelligent movie, requiring more than 2 hours of complete attention, without gunfights, car crashes. It would gross about $500,000 on first release. So enjoy it at home and pray for a studio executive who would have balls. You never know...
