Get readyifor theiride of your life.
Arnold Schwarzenegger explodes out of the year 2084 A.D. with gut churning, white knuckle, non-stop action, as he smashes his way through a horrifyingly real fantasy world, complete with a gorgeous but deadly wife (Sharon Stone), and into a mind-bending, nightmarish reality of a Martian mining colony ruled over by a terrorizing dictator (Ronny Cox), who can alter reality to suit his whims. The red planet erupts with rebellious mutants, the fire of an alluring and mysterious woman (Rachel Ticotin) and a vicious and savage enemy. In this film, directed by Paul Verhoeven (Robocop), with special effects by Dream Quest (Academy Award® for The Abyss), it's total war, total action, total Schwarzenegger... TOTAL RECALL.

We can remember it for you wholesale..... - 4 out of 5 (4/6/2001)
That was the short story title written by Philip K.Dick that the movie was based on and it was such a wonderful flick. It was brillantly directed by Paul Verhoeven who also brought us RoboCop. A great premise, a wonderful, thought-provoking story and I think the only film where Arnold Schwarzenegger really acts! We believe he is an ordinary guy thrown into an incredible situation. This movie made you think, the special effects were awesome, and like all good sci-fi movies, this one envelopes

Violent Sci-Fi Spectacular! - 4 out of 5 (1/14/2000)
One of Arnold's best films on a more or less
average DVD. Video and Audio are not the best but
this is definitly the best version of the film.
Check out "Robocop" and "Starship Troopers", two
another great films by Verhoeven who is able to
provoke and entertain with his brilliant violent
sci-fi visions.

This is a Cool movie but an Average DVD. - 3.5 out of 5 (5/19/1999)
Total Recall is a good movie that keeps you involved until the very end. The plot is a little corny at times but turns out to be pretty deep. It has good special effects for its time but some of the effects fall short by today's standards. Arnold does a good job acting even when the dialogue is very corny. I remember being very happy to pay the bucks to see this in the theaters and I still feel the same way. How often do you get to see a man pull a tracking device that is the size of a golf
