THE BEASTMASTER was born into the sword & sorcery era of the early eighties.
Facing stiff competition from other classics as CONAN THE BARBARIAN, SWORD &
THE SORCERER, and DEATHSTALKER, the PG rated BEASTMASTER died a quick and
horrible death at the box office. It seemed at the time that audiences
wanted their sword and sorcerers to be a tad gorier, bloodier and nuder.
