The rat pack is whack - 3.75 out of 5 (1/21/2002)
OCEANS 11 is one of those films that we fondly remember, and perhaps it just
better that way. I, for one couldn't wait to revisit the rat pack after
seeing the brand new Steven Soderberg remake starring George Clooney.
After seeing both, I have to say that the remake is a much better film but
the original has a much cooler fell to the characters.
And that's a good thing because beyond the characters, there really isn't
much to recommend about the original OCEANS 11. The script is fla

Great film, great features - 4 out of 5 (1/29/2002)
Though the remake of this film is "slicker" with more of a James Bond feel to it, the original holds its own. The basic plot is the same -- a bunch of guys want to knock off 5 casinos. Almost everything else is different.
Though not particularly a "Rat Pack" fan, I have to admit that I was greatly entertained by this film. It had great dialog, great plot twists, and the guts to not use sex to keep interest due to lack of talent.
This is one DVD that the "special features" are almost as

Brilliant Rat Pack film. Disgraced by the remake. Anyone who decides to see the remake should be beaten with a balltine hammer.

The Rat Pack really having some fun..... - 4.75 out of 5 (1/8/2002)
I actually saw the 2001 Ocean's 11 before seeing this Ocean's 11. What a difference, althought that the lead characters in this movie are both named Danny Ocean which is good to see. Frank Sinatra played the lead 100 times better than Clooney. This movie totally showed how much these people got along, and for that reason it made this movie so great. So if you are a fan of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis Jr., or even Angie Dickinson you will just love this dvd.
