Hear Ye, Hear Ye! This movie is one of the greatest comedies ever made, and this DVD is one of the greatest ever produced. There are so many extras on this disk I would rate it up there with Terminator II. The commentaries are excellent, but I was particularly impressed with the Japanese scenes, the Lego Knights of the Round Table song, the Coconut sketch, and the sing-a-longs. This disk is a must buy. This release has significant problems with it.... - 3.75 out of 5 (1/10/2002)
(1) As tracked numerous places on the web, (particularly via ongoing threads in Pythonline, DVDTalk and HomeTheaterForum), there are a significant number of DVD Players, multiple makes and models, which will spontaneously start displaying the subtitles during this film, at multiple points during the film. (2)ALL versions of this Special Edition currently are missing the first fake-Swedish subtitle at the beginning of the film. PLEASE sign the petition at http://www.PetitionOnline.com/bayork1/p
