Thirty-seven thousand years ago, a deadly secret was buried in a cave in Texas. Now the secret has been unleashed. And its discovery may mean the end of all humanity.
"The plague to end all plagues."
When a terrorist bomb destroys a building in Dallas, Texas, FBI Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are drawn into a dangerous conspiracy surpassing anything they've ever encountered. With the dubious assistance of a paranoid doctor (Academy Award®-winner Martin Landau), Mulder and Scully risk their careers and their lives to hunt down a deadly virus which may be extraterrestrial in origin - and could destroy all life on earth. Their pursuit of truth pits them against the mysterious Syndicate, powerful men who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets safe, leading the agents from a cave in Texas, to the halls of the FBI, and finally to a secret installation in Antarctica which holds the greatest secret of all.

Damn those black bars!!! - 3.5 out of 5 (8/18/2000)
I suppose i agree with all above, but i can never get used to the so called widescreen format. They claim that you see more on the sides, but if the DVD hasn't got an anamorphic feature - like this one - you can be sure that it'll display a "fake widescreen". What they do is that they just take fullscreen version and put a black bar on top and bopttom of the picture. This truly suckes, because then you never see the charachter's foreheads and chins at closeups - wish happens a lot in this one.

"Trust no one, Mr. Mulder" - 4.25 out of 5 (5/30/1999)
So it finally makes it - from the TV set to the cinema screen and now back into the living room via DVD. Was it worth it? The DVD works fine, both image and sound are well up the best, but as a movie can it hold its own against the series.? I know that the sets are bigger, the language grows bolder, etc. but ultimately do we learn any more about Mulder and Scully than we have gathered via the series? Some questions are answered in the plot but there are still major unresolved storyline issue
