THE EVIL DEAD, Director Sam Raimi's (Darkman, Quick & The Dead, Army of Darkness) first feature film, is a true cult classic in every sense of the word. Originally released in 1982, THE EVIL DEAD tells the tale of a group of
friends who go to a cabin in the woods, where they find an unspeakable evil urking in the forest. They find the Necronomicon, the book of the dead, and the taped translation of the text. Once the tape is played, the evil is
released. One by one, the teens become deadly zombies. With only one remaining (Bruce Campbell), it is up to him to survive the night and battle

JOIN US!!!!! - 4.25 out of 5 (7/3/2001)
You know, it's hard to know what to say about this film. Evil Dead has been reviewed to many times to count throughout the years, and a quick search on the net will turn up hundreds of pages devoted to this cult classic and it's sequels. Why? Well, because it freakin' rules, that's why!
It's hard to describe the appeal of this film to someone who hasn't seen it. If you just catch a glimpse of the film it looks like the lowest budget horror film ever made. (Ok, there was a little fi

Horror or COMEDIC Genius? - 4.75 out of 5 (6/26/2002)
I recieved this movie yesterday and it is five o'clock in the morning the next day, I have just finished watching this movie for the first time. And I have got to say that this has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Not because it was scary(for which it wasn't in the first place), but because it was so cheesy that I had to laugh. I swear this movie was so funny and kick ass, it made my face hurt. Grainy video in one or two spots in the movie give it a four, but everything else is top n

The Golden-Age of Raimi - 4.25 out of 5 (6/10/2002)
This film is pure horror genius, and represents an era of Sam Raimi movie making that existed long before he became over exposed, overrated and hyped up to the Nth degree. This film was made when Sam Raimi stuck to what he was best at, which is creating high quality, low budget slasher films. A must for any complete horror collection.
