The amps are on, but nobody's home.
In this hilarious spoof of the music industry, three intelligence challenged rock 'n' rollers (Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Sandler) decide to take drastic action after their music continually falls on deaf ears. They break into a radio station, hoping to get their demo played on the air. But when the deejay (Joe Mantegna) and station manager (Michael McKean) refuse to play their song, the boys have no choice but to take the entire radio station hostage.

A guilty pleasure - 3.75 out of 5 (10/3/2001)
Okay, It's Saturday afternoon and you don't have a damn thing to do. You
turn on the TV and watch whatever comes on. Chances are (and let's just say
for conversations sake, this isn't football season) you will find one of two
movies on television. If you are watching USA cable, it will be the
GODFATHER and if you have HBO, it will be AIRHEADS.

on the market and while one certainly wouldn't be confused with the ot

This is a great movie and a pretty decent release from Fox! - 4.5 out of 5 (11/11/2002)
Airheads is a great movie and I'm really happy to see that it's available on DVD. Even though the DVD doesn't have 5.1 Dolby Digital audio, the 4.0 Surround audio is pretty good. A comentary track would've been great on the DVD as well. As for the other features, I think they're great! I especially loved seeing White Zombie's video for Feed the Gods. If you like loud music or would like to hear Beavis and Butthead call up a radio station looking to score, then this DVD is for you!

AIRHEADS THE DVD BETTER THAN VHS BETTER THAN DVD - 4.75 out of 5 (1/25/2002)
This film finally came to DVD. All movies B-Movies, cult, you name it eventually comes to DVD at some point (e.g. "Chopping Mall"). This film is one of them.
It is about time Fox put this out on DVD. The video is better than the NTSC laserdisc. And the features are good. Even if their is no commentary, but there are TV spots and trailer, music videos and a making of featurette that make rock fans delighted.
I must say that the laserdisc was softer and less impressive, but this DVD should
