Synopsis
For Love. For Honor. For Mankind.

When NASA's executive director, Dan Truman (Thornton), realizes the Earth has 18 days before it's obliterated by a meteor the size of Texas, he has only one option--land a ragtag team of roughneck oil drillers on the asteroid and drop a nuclear warhead into its core. Spectacular special effects, laugh-out-loud humor, great characters, riveting storytelling and heartfelt emotion make Armageddon an exhilarating thrill ride you'll want to experience like there's no tomorrow.

Armageddon tired of that song! - 3.5 out of 5  (5/30/2000)
You Know, I don't want to close my eyes, I don't want to fall asleep, cause I know that I'll still hear that damn Aerosmith song You know the one. The one that they played to death the last two years. It won the Oscar, it won all the MTV awards, it won it's way into your hearts and into your head and then promptly became the most annoying song ever written. I almost didn't want to watch the movie again, just because I hate that damn song so much but one of the wonderful features of DV   more >>

The Call:
- 4.125 out of 5  (1/26/1999)
The Movie:
There are 18 days left before a meteor, the size of Texas, collides with the earth and destroys all life. Our only hope is that a group of roughneck oil drillers get to the asteroid and destroy it before our time is up. I had a love hate relationship with this movie. I loved the special effects and the action. I must admit that I was very entertained when I saw it in the theaters. The special effects in this film are amazing. The beginning of the film was simply in   more >>

Armageddon rocks....... - 4.25 out of 5  (3/17/2000)
Armageddon was maybe the best movie of 1998! I loved the story line. It grabbed me and pulled me in until the final scene. You would not expect to cry at the end of an action movie, but I could not help but have tears of pride and relief . The special effects were incredible. Ben and Bruce are great in this one... The story involves this big rock the size of Texas, that's headed for the Earth. When it collides, in eighteen days, the world will end. NASA's Director is understandably concerned   more >>

Gun-hoe adventure for thrill seekers - 4 out of 5  (11/13/1999)
This is a great movie for anyone who has ever liked watching SF adventure. There was a time I thought Deep Impact was a better movie because it depicted information in a more realistic manner. What pushed me into the Armageddon camp is the sheer excitement of how they saved the world. Deep Impact concentrated on political and media aspects of end of world. Armageddon looked at it from a first person aspect and then interacted with the situation. Interesting, althout there are some instances that   more >>
