The film, although a love story, tells the real happenings of how a boatload of refugees got home. - 4.25 out of 5 (10/30/2002)
This is a realistic story of how a lot of Jewish refugees got to Israel after the war. The British were keeping them prisoners, although they had just been freed from different concentration camps and wanted to go to Israel. Israeli soldiers came from Israel to the camps and helped them plan their escape. Getting an old barge and setting out into the harbor, they held the British government and warships at bay.
