'Assault' of Love - 3.25 out of 5 (5/4/2001)
Director John Carpenter's sophomore attempt 'Assault On Precinct 13' has been a film sort of 'lost in time', merely tumbling around in the overcrowded and often lame world that is home video. Most fans of Carpenter's work have never seen his 'The Classic Western Meets the LA of Today' or what then was considered to be today back when the film was introduced to audiences in 1976. What a shame it is to because perhaps 'Assault' is the very ocean from which so many of todays's 'action films' stem f

Carpenter Builds A Strong Foundation - 3 out of 5 (3/13/2001)
John Carpenter's Assault On Precinct 13, for its time of release in 1976, was well paced and filled with suspense, drama and great action. However, in today's world of extreme special effects and daring stunts, new viewers of the film will probably find it very slow and rather over dramatic perhaps. One of the greatest low budget films of all time!! - 4 out of 5 (11/18/1998)
Assault on Precinct 13 is a brilliant and tension filled suspense actioner that proves you don't need $50 million dollars to make a great action film. In fact John Carpenter made this classic siege film on a budget a $100,000 budget, yet the film sucks you in with its slow setup, but once the action starts up you are on the edge of your seat the rest of the film. The film has the famous or infamous ice cream truck scene which is always fun to show to people who have never seen this film before.
