Clint Eastwood's film Unforgiven is an exciting modern classic that rode off with four 1992 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Director. "The movie summarized everything I feel about the Western," Eastwood told the Los Angeles Times. "The moral is the concern with gunplay." Eastwood and Morgan Freeman play retired, down-on-their-luck outlaws who pick up their guns one last time to collect a bounty offered by the vengeful prostitutes of the remote Wyoming town of Big Whiskey. Richard Harris is an ill-fated interloper, a colorful killer-for-hire called English Bob. Best Supporting Actor winner Gene Hackman is the sly and brutal local sheriff whose brand of law enforcement ranges from unconventional to ruthless. Big trouble is coming to Big Whiskey.

you'd be unforgiven for missing this film! - 4.5 out of 5 (9/20/2000)
The bottom line and the chilling truth at the base of "The Unforgiven" is that the heroes don't always wear white. The movie which has been called the best western in twenty years swept the Academy Awards in 1992 and laid to rest any doubts on the talent of Clint Eastwood.
The film is as near perfect as you get. It sets up a simple premise and then slowly plods towards that end goal. It also mixes up the stereotypes and makes the film more entertaining in the process. Eastwood plays William M

Not your typical, over-blown Hollywood production - 4.25 out of 5 (2/12/2007)
I like this movie because it features a storyline that could actually have been "real" instead of a Hollywood fantasy. One reviewer wanted to see more action. But, the beauty of this movie is its purity, the settings and the scenes. Humans interacting, with human emotions. Yes, I like action-filled Westerns. And, Unforgiven has enough to get my vote. I'm not sure if it's my all-time favorite Eastwood Western. But, it truly is a very good film.

Excellent Movie - 4.25 out of 5 (4/13/1999)
Really the only thing wrong with this movie is the lack of extras (come on, give us an interview with Clint!).
I'd have rated the Features a "2" but I've got to make up for some damn fool who rated the whole movie a "3", I can't believe it!
