Synopsis
Jason is back, hockey mask and all. And he's up to his old maniacal tricks in Friday The 13th Part V - A New Beginning. This time he seems to have set his sights on the young patients at a secluded halfway house. And more than a few of his teen targets end up in half, in quarters... you name it, Jason does it.

This is the fifth scary installment in the Friday The 13th saga. If you liked the first four, and think you're up to getting back on Jason's bloody trail, you'll love Friday The 13th Part V - A New Beginning.

Where's Jason? - 3.5 out of 5  (9/24/2001)
FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 5 stands out in the annals of the Jason series, as the one movie that has the most annoying cast and a surprise ending that will hardly surprise anyone. What is surprising is that the producers planned to end the series with number four and decided to go for six after this film did well in the box office. What is even more surprising is that the producers wanted to take the series in a different direction and they surrounded this whodunit with a cast of charact   more >>

Ok sequel - 3.5 out of 5  (2/3/2004)
Ok, when people go to see a Friday The 13th movie, they go to see Jason kill horny teens while their having sex. In this, no Jason, no Jason at all. It's a good movie and all but it would have been better if it was Jason under the mask when it fell off. Buy it or rent it. Gore: 86% Scares: 42% Humor: 31% Overall: 54%   more >>

Something Different - 3.25 out of 5  (8/7/2003)
Ok.. Friday should have ended with movie 4.. But since Jason isn't the killer in this movie and its just a copy cat it somewhat makes it ok. This is the 2nd movie of the series where Jason isn't the killer. They tease the idea that maybe Tommy will become the new Jason at the end.. But don't get your hopes up because in part 6 they completely dropped the idea (as well as the same actor :x)   more >>

A VERY HORRIBLE & DEPRESSING NEW BEGINNING - 2.25 out of 5  (11/10/2002)
First off, I would like to say that I hate the DVD cover of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 5 - A NEW BEGINNING. When we all found out that Part 4 wasn't the Final Chapter, the Friday fan base droppped down the roof like buckets and the boxoffice reciepts are the very proof of that. When released to theatres in March 1985, the only reason that Paramount continued with further sequels because back in 1983, when the Final Chapter was in production, Wes Craven took his Nightmare on Elm Street project to P   more >>
