If you have been recently looking at the fine new DVD edition of Quentin Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN (1997), you have already had the pleasure of hearing Bobby Womack's title song to ACROSS 110TH STREET
(1972), an appropriate choice since it is such a great hybrid of the so-called "Blaxploitation" cycle (a term that is losing gravity, even in critical circles) and the urban police thriller (BULLITT, DIRTY HARRY).
