Synopsis
A Rollicking Fantasy-Adventure." -- Leonard Maltin

From legendary filmmakers George Lucas and Ron Howard comes one of the most beloved fantasy tales of all time. This groundbreaking film features stunning special effects, dazzling action and a classic battle between good and evil.

When young Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) finds an abounded baby, he is suddenly thrust into an adventure filled with magic and danger. According to an ancient prophecy, the sacred child is destined to end the reign of the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). Now, with only a single swordsman (Val Kilmer) at his side, Willow must overcome the forces of darkness that threaten to destroy anyone who stands in the Queen's way!

I hope The Lord Of The Rings is half as good! - 5 out of 5  (11/28/2001)
Every so often a movie will come along that sets the standard for all other films of that attempt to meet. In 1988, George Lucas and Ron Howard teamed up to create Willow, and set the bar at a level that I still feel has yet to be achieved by another fantasy film. We have high hope for Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings, don't we precious? Oh yes we do! Willow is a classic fantasy story in all respects. From the carefree race of Halflings, suave swordsman, and mighty armies, to the evi   more >>

Lucas's most underrated movie. - 4.75 out of 5  (4/5/2005)
From what I have been able to gather on most parts of the net, this is a movie that George Lucas detractors love to hate. And I cannot understand why. For me, WILLOW has been nothing but a rollickingly fun piece of entertainment from the creator of STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES. Not only is this one of my favorite fantasy movies, I consider this one of Lucas's best productions outside of the aforementioned successful franchises. The most glaring attack on WILLOW is that it is an inferior imita   more >>

Damn I love this movie - 4.75 out of 5  (7/20/2002)
Damn I love Ron Howard's image of this sci-fi fantasy. Done with all the right moves. This has to be owned for three reasons. The collaberation of George Lucas(Producer), Ron Howard(Director), and Val Kilmer(Actor) at their best. You problably already know why you should buy this movie. The extra's are not too great. I do not think that Ron Howard has ever given his DVD collection any features. Backdraft, Gung Ho, Ransom are 3 other Ron Howard movies I own and there are no great features   more >>
