Empire Review Shiloh - 3.5 out of 5  (10/22/2001) SHILOH Dale Rosenbloom directs this 1997 heart warming flick, SHILOH. The movie is based upon Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Newbury Award winning novel, about an abused hound dog a little boy finds. The hunter is VERY abusive to the beagle and the boy finds his father's lack of devotion 'cruel' to say the least. His father is adamant and very hell bent on giving the dog back to the cruel owner.
